I was able to quite easily make Horde's (IMP) password program change courier passwords (just had to make the authdaemon socket directory world-readable). I also intend do update one of those squirrelmail modules, but since I don't personally use squirrelmail, I've been putting it off for other things. If anyone else would like to tackle the project, I'm happy to share what I wrote for Horde. The important code should pretty much just be a drop-in replacement.
