Hello,

I have the fullowing problem with pop3 logging:

Some users like to leave their mails on the mailserver while using pop3 to although imap would be better. Some now have a very large number (>20000) messages in their maildir.

With every new connection to the pop3 server the email clients download the full list of messages from the server with produce a lot of traffic but I only find

top=0, retr=0

in the logfiles for theses connections?

Is their any way to log these traffic?

The clients are probably downloading the index of messages in the mailbox, and each message's UID. With 20K messages that would certain amount to a bit of bandwidth, but under no reasonable interpretation should that be counted towards any quota.
