Hi all.

I've got a problem that has more or less followed me since I started
using courier and more specifik courier-imap. My server only has a few
domains with a totalt of around twenty users that frequently access the
server for their email.

It _never_ fails for anyone to fire up their client (me and almost all
of the others run Thunderbird) and log on to the server. It almost never
fails to retrieve and read the email and doing maintenance such as
moving emails from the inbox to another folder within the account. But
after a few minutes the connection hangs - or almost hangs - and the
only resolution is to restart the client (or force it to disconnect and
re-connect to the imap-account).

Now, the server sits on a single 2Mbps-connection (dedicated) with
hardly no traffic at all. I can't se anything that would be relevant
enough to even begin to explain this behavior so now im turning to your
bright minds to see if anyone can help me in finding what parameters I
need to tune to get this working more smoothly.

Ive done some stats and there are never more then 5 clients logged on at
the same time over a time of one hour. All clients has the setting of at
least 5 minutes lean-time before re-checking if new mail has arrived (so
there should be no congestion?). I've enclosed my setup below.

Id love to hear from someone about these problems. Is there anything I
can change?
