Hi guys! I've been assigned to set up a fairly large mail server (possibly up to 100,000 users)... the requirements would be pop/webmail access (maybe imap too). After searching around for something suitable (i'm running debian linux), i came across the courier mail site. It's an impressive list of features, and i like the design (being able to use certain parts of it instead of the whole set, etc.) Anyway, i want to give this a whirl, but i was unable to find a document that described the status. From what i could tell it seems like an old and stable project, but i noticed that the version number is still in the .47-area. Recognizing that all versioning schemes are different, i thought maybe i should just email this list to see what exactly the status of courier mail is right now. Would it be suitable for the size of project i'm looking at? Is it stable enough to use in a production environment? Any kind of list of large projects that are currently operating on the courier mail server? Really sorry to trouble the list w/ such a lame and simple question, i just couldn't find this sort of documentation on the website... if it exists just sending the link would be more than enough.
