I have run Courier on FreeBSD 4.x and Dell hardware myself, in a
clustered environment.

It works well, but I continue to run most of the ISP functions on
Postfix using Courier-IMAP for the POP/IMAP functions because of a
multitude of reasons, none of which are issues with Courier.
