Hi Folks Like many, I've been focusing hard on Coworking progress for the past year and recently established where I fit in this awesome movement. I've always had the belief that to run a space, you have to put the community first. I'm a self confessed 'Geek Voyeur' i.e. I really dig watching creative people work and like to surround myself with people generally smarter than me. What I mean here, is that my idea of success is to enjoy what you do and for me, that's all about helping others to succeed. So, I feel my destiny lies in being a space catalyst (and most likely as a not-for-profit).
What's my plan? There are two leading spaces in Melbourne - HubMelbourne and Inspire9. Both have a well established community and membership. HubMelbourne is located near Docklands, Inspire9 in Richmond. I believe that a 'Coworking Triangle' can exist in Melbourne without competing and (with the collaboration of both establishments) I intend to open a new space in one of the Coastal/ Bayside suburbs (between Port Melbourne to Hampton) if the independent worker community needs it. My key question is whether there is a demand for a space in this area of Melbourne? Is there are budding community out there that will 'test' me. I'm quietly confident that I'm the next 'right' person to do this - so this is my initial shout and I hope I can open POLLEN coworking space in the very near future. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Coworking" group.
