Sinan Ünür gave a talk at NY.pm this week and pointed out that subtle differences between nmake and dmake are a problem. I think most of our Windows smokers are using Strawberry (with MinGW and dmake).
If some intrepid soul wanted to compile up perl with MSVC2013 (free!) and smoke with it and nmake, that would certainly generate some useful test data.
