Hi David
I (hopefully) also use Make, for it's almost impossible to compile anything
but the simplest program without it ;-) (unless typing tiresome lists of
command lines....)
But just look at this...
I have one entry for the Dos command interpreter (as you do...), one for
make (...), but also the three ones for compiling a single file, linking a
single file, running the result (those three prove to be useful when you're
just testing an algorithm before integrating it in the real project)
Now I also have an entry for ctags (you know that wonderful utilities ?
gives you a list of your functions, structures, globals etc with the file
and line number... so this make a good way to navigate your project), one
for the debugger, one for an icon&bitmaps editor, one to run the window
explorer...
Then you add the mains helpfiles (gcc, gnu_c, win32Api, wxWindow
framework...)... right now, my menu is almost full.
Hopefully I don't use CREdit as an HTML editor, nor do I actually write Java
or Pascal code ;-)
Now, as you can't insert menu separators to have a visible display, I must
use the few tools left as menu separators. So, 16 tools may be overkill, as
may be very restricting, depends on how you work. I just wish I could make
it as you do, but being a bit lazy, I find it easiest to access everything I
need from the same place ;-)
Best regards
Bruno Desthuilliers
