we ended up moving before the hudson instance had migrated to jetty during that period of big stability issues a while back > I'm just asking if you really found the Hudson setup so unworkable you are > now using some other alternative? we are using a jenkins setup in a nice vm which works well for us > If so, a) did you open bugs on what was unworkable? I had opened bugs for some of the issues which resolved in such a way that we were not allowed to do what we needed to due to Eclipse policy, so we moved to our own setup. Our project does not live just at eclipse, we have components at the codehaus not to mention github as well and we were not allowed to build anything that weren't at eclipse here. We toyed with having multiple CI setups but it just made no sense in the end to keep all those things humming along. Now we just have the one job we really use that builds the p2 repository for jetty8 because that needs to be signed and we can only do that inside eclipse lands. > Mostly just curious, but also wondering if there is a larger problem here > than some of us have realized? Not especially, so long as you fit in the box that eclipse IP policy draws, no worries. Its when you stray outside that box that things get difficult...which is totally fine, it is a stated strength of Eclipse to have the IP policies it does. cheers, jesse > > > > > > From: Jesse McConnell <[email protected]> > To: Cross project issues <[email protected]>, > Date: 11/08/2012 03:20 PM > Subject: Re: [cross-project-issues-dev] Hudson down? > Sent by: [email protected] > ________________________________ > > > > Why do you think we stopped using this hudson setup except for the > single job that requires the silly signing setup you guys wired up? > > *pppssbbt* > > -- > jesse mcconnell > [email protected] > > > On Thu, Nov 8, 2012 at 2:07 PM, Denis Roy <[email protected]> wrote: >> As a Jetty user I thought you'd be used to that by now :-D >> >> >> >> </ducks> >> >> >> >> >> On 11/08/2012 03:01 PM, Jesse McConnell wrote: >>> >>> i have had this on and off throughout the day >>> >>> -- >>> jesse mcconnell >>> [email protected] >>> >>> >>> On Thu, Nov 8, 2012 at 1:59 PM, Konstantin Komissarchik >>> <[email protected]> wrote: >>>> >>>> Requests to hudson.eclipse.org are hanging.
