Hi Eike, There is some discussion on https://bugs.eclipse.org/441957 (with a link to https://bugs.eclipse.org/381751). The idea is to add a p2.inf late in the Mars cycle which will allow updating from a Juno SR? to the new package in Mars. I’ve opened https://bugs.eclipse.org/446983 to track the effort.
