I am deeply horrified by what I see going on in the world today and of
course support any all constructive measures to make it stop. That
being said, the software we build today could well get installed years
from now, and a reminder of the current appalling, social disaster is
not something we should hard-code into that software, in my opinion.
The following page comes up *once *whenever the URL is changed in the
product catalog:

E.g., it will come up again when campaign=2022-03 is changed.
That might be a more appropriate place. Another place would be the
download page itself, but that is managed by the Foundation.
In the end though, I'm not sure how I feel about everything in this
world becoming politicized, including Eclipse.org. At the same time,
condoning appalling behavior through inaction is also not a high virtue.

What about changing the splash screen (bug 575781) to a message (for
example Ukraine flag blue + yellow).
Perhaps. But ultimately that is a project decision.
