Sourceforge offers hosted mailman and forums and makes data available via API. 
It also allows the management of all this by multuple individuals. In the 
interest of not further spreading the various community assets, and putting 
them into individuals hands, I personally believe that to be the best 
alternative.

+1, it also confuses my mail client that there is duality between
[email protected] and [email protected].
