As some of you probably know, I've been tutoring a Programming & Analysis course since about 1993 and from time to time we update things to keep it current, then have NZQA re-accredit the course.

We have trying to do that now for some time and each time we send it off to NZQA to have it re-accredited, they reply provided us with another hoop to jump through. The latest one is that they would like letters of support from industry.

What this would entail is a very fleeting visit from myself with an outline of the course to show you and to try to elicit the required letter. Letters don't need to be lengthy, just saying something along the lines of "We're familiar with the course, and confirm that industry requires graduates" etc...

Some of you may even have hired graduates already, some places in Christchurch that come to mind are: Christchurch City Council, JADE Development, Gen-i and some smaller businesses.

If you are prepared to help with a letter, please reply directly to my email (work or home) and I'll contact you to make a time when I can visit and talk to you in person.

Sorry about this, but NZQA likes its red tape.
