Hmm. For IIS servers, there's a product called StreamCatcher which,
among other things, permits short-form URLs to be used and
automatically mapped according to defined rules. Simple example:

http://turbonote.com/spis/runisa.dll?SV:TBNPERSONAL

...is also fine as:

http://turbonote.com/TBNPERSONAL

It can also remap static URLs to dynamic pages and vice versa, or re-
route traffic between sites (e.g. an old domain name/page to a new
one).

There are probably other products and facilities which can do it; we
like StreamCatcher because it can also deal with robot issues, and
denial-of-service attacks, among many other things. URL:
