I actually use the TF2 server browser to find valve servers. I can't stand community servers anymore, since the only ones left prey on their users or are huge circlejerks; on the other hand, quickplay is basically useless since I know there are at least three valve servers on any given map in my region, and I always know exactly what map I want to play, and quickplay doesn't let me select past the gamemode.

A TF2 player who doesn't want valve servers should just filter out the "valve" keyword, which is done on the query side IIRC.

If it's not already possible, a better change than not sending valve servers over would be to let people exclude and include keywords at the same time, like if I want to filter out valve and filter in cp or vice versa. That said, different issue for a different mailing list.

BTW, can someone fwd to the TF2 team that "doomsday" valve's own CTF servers is disabling capture crits for later maps in the rotation, and that it's really a great thing that it is? It's been like this since they put them in the same rotation. Really, valve CTF got a lot better after they put doomsday on the same servers.

Hugo the issue was the master server sending all valve official servers for your client to query, but your client filtered them out. This resulted in you getting a full list of servers, but only displaying some of them. Now, only community servers are shown. There is a cap to how many servers your client can get from the master server, probably for performance reasons. The CS:GO browser should work like CS:S now. TF2 should be patched to work like CS:GO does now, not displaying or querying valve official servers.

Seems server browser is fixed. I can find any server now. Thanks a lot for this fix I think this is great for community servers.

Now, I have a question, why is this fix only for csgo client?because by default steam server browser protocol it’s where is the issue, has TF2, CS:S suffer from similar issues even though it’s a lot less noticeable
