An interesting example of this technique can be found here: http://www.iht.com/ Choose a story, for example: http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/11/14/news/france.php Now, on the story page, make the window-height smaller and taller... you should see the text in the columns flow from column to column or page to page... pretty cool. IHT makes heavy use of javascript... I personally like the design, but would not be so heavy-handed with the javascripts.
