Greetings All I recently completed a site for a client, www.oxfordprice.com, and was contacted by him today regarding his positioning on Google. Here is what was said:
'I spoke with the people at google today and they gave me insight to why I'm not showing up on the results. It's the page layout. The data/text cannot be read. it has something to do with the borders and the parameter of the page. They said just to make it regular.' This caught me by total surprise as I was under the impression that going the standards route would actually aid in getting you better placement due to the proper use of the <h> tags, paragraphs, lists etc. Can someone please have a look at the site/page as mentioned above and give me some insight into this matter. One thing that I have picked up upon re-validating the code is that whomever added the META tags did not terminate them properly. I am hoping that this is actually the cause and not what is stated by the people from Google.
