Someone else who is better at fixing stuff will help you out with the
specific problem you are having with your layout. There are any number
of ways to do things-- this is another method of setting 2 cols.

than you have-- just different. Use it if you like, and follow the
tutorial on page link, if you run into trouble. It is a good idea to
hold the width to 776px or a little less to clear the scroll bars for
users at 800. And some say with a 2col layout that it is best to keep
the links on the right, so that the content-text is first in the html
source ( for accessibility reasons-- those using text browsers).
Validate your markup and css as you go along-- that, and not clearing
the floats properly, account for frequent problems.
