The page works on:
Opera 7, 8.0, 8.5, 9.0 (on XP)
IE 5.5, 6 (on XP)
Safari 1.3

IE 5.01 runs the images vertically - in pairs if the window is big
enough, but otherwise in a single column.

Images run vertically (single column) in Netscape 4, IE 4 and in IE 5
Mac (5.0, 5.1, 5.2)

I was able to get the horizontal scrolling working in IE 5 Mac by
adding:

/*\*//*/ .scroller li {display: inline-block;} /**/

It adds a couple of hundred pixels of white space below the row of
images - not sure why - but the images are arranged horizontally.

I wouldn't worry about IE 5 PC - my only advice would be to re-think the
different paddings on the 'left' and 'right' classes (and maybe center
the list itself) so that the images line up nicely even if they are
displayed in a single verical column. The layout works well both ways.

BTW, Jacob says users hate horizontal scrolling,
[http://www.useit.com/alertbox/20050711.html] but its not really clear
what sort of sites he tested - most likely it was sites where the
content is too wide for the window, forcing horizontal and vertical
scrolling. I don't know if anyone's really tested pure horizontal sites.
I think they work really well for image galleries.

cheers,
Geoff Pack
