Probably a beginner question.

I have one line of text containing two elements. I want one to be
left-justified and one to be right-justified.
Something like this:

JAMES W. JACOBS,
                                        Proprietor

I am not sure how to accomplish this.

For instance, I am trying something like this:

<p>JAMES W. JACOBS,<span class="title">Proprietor</span><p>

If I use a style sheet that gives title text-align: right, I would think that
might work.

However, it does not. It just gives:

JAMES W. JACOBS,Proprietor

How can I accomplish this?
