Hi all, I have come across a strange css problem on a site that I am working on, and I'd appreciate some advice. I think it may be related to how I am floating and clearing a number of divs. I have set up a simplified demo page that illustrates the problem:
http://www.tellura.co.uk/trunctest/trunctest.htm I have two columns side by side, and under some circumstances the left column is being cut off level with the bottom of the right column - it only seems to manifest when the left column is longer, so I never see this truncation in the right column. It only happens in IE6. It occasionally happens when the page is loaded for the first time for a given client browser, but I can trigger the cut-off reliably by doing the following (again, only in IE6): 1. Right-click on the image at the page top (white text on a blue background), then 2. Choose the "Properties" sub-menu I have no idea why this in particular should trigger the problem, but it is a reliable way to demonstrate the symptom. However, this problem seems to trigger quite frequently just on loading the page, and naturally I'd like to understand what is causing it. I have been doing some digging and it feels quite like the Guillotine bug, but not exactly since there are no links in either column (I understand that the cut-off in the Guillotine bug is triggered by hovering over a link). I *think* the problem may also be related to the css I am using to manage the two images at the top of the page too, but cannot get to the bottom of that. Anyway, if anyone can point me in the direction of what seems to be going wrong that would be very helpful.
