Rita,

Your problems are primarily stemming from IE 5.x's incorrect box model. 
Please read the following article, then take steps to feed IE 5.x 
modified widths:
http://www.communitymx.com/abstract.cfm?cid=20B41

Once you've hacked the box model, you may still have rendering problems, 
but this should get you most of the way there.

(You really should try to get your client to upgrade to IE 6 at least. 
Try telling them that their browser is several years old and thus 
vulnerable to lots of virus and spyware attacks. That usually works.)
