Hi Alan2, I don't know how you find the time to help us learners but I as so immensly pleased you do! I have carefully worked through your corrections and now understand - that bit! Placing the images was a trial error struggle that I knew I hadnt quite pulled off, so thanks again for the fine correction. Now all I have to do is meld into my website, validate, browser check then rock n roll. Tony

In your HTML you had your <li> <ul> constructs incorrectly nested. You must put the </li> *after* the sublist. I've also set up an extra popout submenu for you, just to show that it will work for any of your primary lists. My modified code works in IE7, Firefox, Opera and Safari, but not in IE6.
