I don't know of any list, but for XHTML, just hit a few random 
websites.  I'd bet that a good 30% would be invalid.

As for CSS, even the w3c site index page is "invalid":

(It uses some Mozilla-only styles, I think, and some hacks to make sure 
the page renders properly in IE6).
