I don't think you can do that. That tap-indicator is a semi-translucent overlay 
that covers the clickable element.  it is a good idea to specify a color with 
alpha (as in rgba() or hsla() ), unlike what you did (use an opaque color); in 
your case webkit makes the color slightly translucent, but not really enough to 
keep the text readable.
