David, I really don't see how the three HTML errors would case his problem. And, you might want to check the CSS before running a validation. He's using CSS3 that validation does not appear to have been run under CSS3 but rather CSS2.1 making the error irrelevant. And, even if they were the only time I've run into problems like he describes they had to do with overlapping elements and the use of z-index, which validation won't find.
