Different keyboard mappings.  IntelliJ has a ton of them.  Just need to learn which they are.

Eclipse for me.

I did try really hard to work with Intellij but its lack of keyboard shortcuts reduced my code output significantly. Two weeks later a was back with Eclipse. For me Eclipse is rich in keyboard shortcuts, almost eliminating the need for a mouse!

As for GUI builders I have only used JGoodies, (licenced), to build Swing UI's. Very quick and simple compared to creating the UI's from scratch. Can not compare with other GUI tools as I have only used JGoodies.

Hi guys

Most Java developers I have talked with, use Eclipse as their favourite IDE. A long time ago I used J Builder (similar to Delphi) and liked it very much, especially for RAD and user interfaces. I have not used Java now for a while, but might do so in the near future.

My questions are:
1. Which IDE do you use and why? I do not want a flame war, so if your reason is simply: "personal preferences" or "because I am more familiar with it" please say so and we can ignore your answer. :-)
2. Also, do you prefer your GUI builder to be part of your IDE or prefer a separate code editor and GUI tools?
3. And maybe related: which widgetset or GUI library to you prefer and does this have any influence on your choice of IDE?
4. Those who have been involved in 3D game development: Any preferred game engines or IDE's (especially if it is not the same as your main choice for IDE)?

Thanks a lot!
Chavoux
