The American Library Association will offer a FREE national town hall meeting on library recruitment via satellite teleconference on Friday, April 26, 2002 from 11-1 p.m. CST (12-2 p.m. EST). More information about the event can be found by visiting: http://www.ala.org/news/v8n3/townhallmeeting.html . Individual sites interested in downlinking the free program MUST register online with the College of DuPage at: http://www.cod.edu/teleconf/ala/index.htm . Although the Texas State Library is not sponsoring this event, CE credit will still be awarded by TSLAC to participants who request credit. Read on to find out about CE credit. SITE COORDINATORS: If you wish to handle the paperwork involved (sign-in sheet and Certificate of Attendance forms) to provide participants the opportunity to earn CE credit from TSLAC for attending this event, contact Naomi Dominguez at the Texas State Library for a sign-in sheet and Cerfiticate of Attendance form. Please make one copy of the sign-in sheet and several copies of the Certificate of Attendance forms and have these available for the participants at the teleconference. At the conclusion of the event, please mail or fax the paperwork to Naomi for processing. (Contact information is included in Naomi's signature at the end of this message.) In addition, please notify the regional library System office in your area that you plan to host the event so they can publicize it to librarians in your region. If you attend the event at a host site that chooses NOT to supply the necessary paperwork (the sign-in sheet and the Certificate of Attendance request forms) and you would like to receive CE credit for the event, please email me with your COMPLETE contact information and the name and address of the institution where you viewed the teleconference and your CE credit will be processed.
