Should be very useful. Amanda at CTLS

Dear All,

We are very happy to announce that a new Young Adult Web Page has been added
to the Texas State Library web site at
http://www.tsl.state.tx.us/ld/projects/ya/index.html. Please have a look!
It features:
1) A list of Best Practices in 10 key areas of library services to teens
that were contributed by Texas librarians who attended a workshop series
entitled, "Connecting Young Adults and Libraries: A How to Do It Workshop"
presented in March, 2002 by Patrick A. Jones and sponsored by the Texas
State Library and Archives Commission.
2) A link to the Young Adult Programs Chapter of the 2002 Texas Reading
Club Manual.
3) Links to web sites with information for librarians about young adult
collections, programs, and services.
4) Links to web pages created for young adults by libraries throughout
Texas. (Be sure to look at the outstanding young adult reading log that
Fort Bend County Libraries developed.)
We will continue to add to this page, so please send your suggestions. If
you would like for us to link your library's young adult web page or if you
host a unique teen program and would like for us to add a description to the
web page, please let me know.
I look forward to hearing from you!
Best regards,
Christine McNew
