E-rate is a reimbursement grant from the federal government
for telephone and internet services. You have to do several things in
advance to qualify such as have a technology plan filed with the state
and fill in a form to apply. You do need information from your school
district at some point and an idea of who your service providers are and
what their ID #s are. All of this is obtainable. There is information on
either the CTLS site or the state library site and fairly good help
information on the E-rate site.
