HB 1635 was originally intended to prevent libraries and health care from receiving TIF grants. When the House Regulated Industries Committee finally got to HB 1635 around 3 am this morning, librarians were there ready to testify. However, the committee chair and author of the bill, Rep. Phil King of Weatherford, had already heard from so many library supporters that he quickly agreed that libraries should remain a TIF constituent. Advocacy works!
