Subject: [slm] Grant Funding for Disaster Planning

FYI: grant funding for preservation projects/training, as well as disaster
planning for both Amigos members and non-members - specifically for smaller
institutions:

Every year Amigos' IPS unit helps both member and non-member institutions
apply for the National Endowment for the Humanities program Preservation
Assistance Grants for Smaller Institutions (PAGs). These grants may be used
for preservation site surveys, preservation-related workshops and training,
training or assistance with preparing disaster plans for your institution,
and supplies to help your institution preserve and house collections. In
past years the grants have been limited to $5,000 or less. This year the
amount has been increased to $6,000, and matching funds are not required
from the applicant.

The application deadline is May 15, 2008, and funds are released in January
2009, with project completion due by the end of 2009. This year's guidelines
are now available on the NEH grants website to give you an idea of the kinds
of projects that are appropriate for this grant. If you would like to
discuss how IPS can assist your institution with a PAG application, and
advise you on preservation or disaster preparedness needs, please contact
Gina Minks, IPS Manager, [EMAIL PROTECTED], or Elizabeth Klein, IPS
Coordinator, [EMAIL PROTECTED], for assistance.
