"I remember a woman who came in about twenty-four years old, claimed her
father was a Satanist. Her parents divorced when she was six. After that
it would only when her father had visitation and he would take her to
rituals sometimes up until age fifteen. She said, "I haven't gone to
anything since I was fifteen." Her therapist believed this at face value
. We sat in my office. We did a two-hour inquiry using hypnosis. We
found the programming present. In addition to that we found that every
therapy session was debriefed and in fact they had told her to get sick
and not come to the appointment with me. Another one had been told that
I was Cult and that if she came I would know that she'd been told not to
come and I would punish her. If anything meaningful comes out in a
patient who's being monitored like that -- from what I've learned thus
far, they're tortured with electric shocks -- my belief is if they're in
that situation you can't do meaningful therapy other than being
supportive and caring and letting them know you care a lot and you'll be
there to support them. But I wouldn't try to work with any kind of deep
material or deprogramming with them because I think it can do nothing
but get them tortured and hurt unless they can get into a safe, secure
inpatient unit for an extended period of time to do some of the work
required. I have a feeling that when you make inquiries you're going to
find that probably greater than fifty percent of these patients, if
they're bloodline, meaning mother or dad or both involved, will be
monitored on some ongoing basis. [Pause]

"The way you create Manchurian Candidates is you divide the mind. It's
part of what the Intelligence Community wanted to look at. If you're
going to get an assassin, you're going to get somebody to go do
something, you divide the mind. It fascinates me about cases like the
assassination of Robert Kennedy, where Bernard Diamond, on examining
Sirhan Sirhan found that he had total amnesia of the killing of Robert
Kennedy, but under hypnosis could remember
it. But despite suggestions he would be able to consciously remember,
Sirhan could not remember a thing after he was out of hypnosis. I'd love
to examine Sirhan Sirhan."

Shades of Gray

Moving in shades of gray,
I look through the mirror of strife;
Past the reflection of my form,
Into places unseen in this life.

Words said are unknown to me;
A message heard but not understood.
Spoken in love never the less;
Recorded in my heart as such a message would.

Words embedded in my soul,
A feeling hard to convey.
Search and you can find,
And light the shades of gray.

I look in a mirror of new life,
Moving through cascades of light.
Now removed are the shades of gray,
With a spirit to face the darkest night.

#3. Nostradamus and Saddam Hussein BY: John Mainert [EMAIL PROTECTED]
.com

Did Nostradamus predict the death of Saddam Hussein and the overthrow of
his regime?

When the Sixteenth Century seer and astrologer made his famous
predictions for the future of mankind, he altered the names of people
and places to conceal their true identities. One of the mysterious
tyrants he mentions in his prophecies is called 'Mabus.'

Could Mabus be the dictator Saddam Hussein? If you spell Mabus
backwards, you get the word Sudam. This sounds suspiciously like the
French pronunciation of Saddam. Nostradamus, of course, was from
Provence in the south of France.

Now let us look at the Mabus prediction (Century II - Quatrain 62):

"Sudam will then soon die, and there will come a horrible destruction of
people and animals Suddenly vengeance will be revealed, a hundred hands,
thirst and hunger, when the comet will pass."

Could this prophecy refer to the death of Saddam Hussein and a
subsequent uprising of the Iraqi people - the Kurds, Shiites and others
- against his supporters?

The prophecy refers to a terrible destruction of both people and animals
. It is strange that he refers to the death of animals. Conventional
weapons do not affect animals to any great extent. Does this mean that
the people and animals will be destroyed by weapons of mass destruction
or perhaps they will be poisoned by fallout from bombed chemical or
biological weapons factories?

The fallout from the destroyed weapons factories would also poison the
water supply and cause the "thirst" mentioned in the prediction. The
people of Iraq are already "hungry" because of the UN sanctions imposed
upon the Saddam regime. Warfare or chemical contamination would lead to
severe food shortages.

Nostradamus says that these events will take place when "the comet will
pass." He could mean this literally, in which case we will have to wait
for a comet to pass over the Middle East. On the other hand,
Nostradamus may have used the word 'comet' as a descriptive term. An
observer from the Sixteenth Century may have described a jet aircraft or
a missile as a comet. After the United States made a cruise missile
attack on terrorist training camps in Afghanistan, local witnesses
described the incoming missiles as 'comets.'

So, what do we have if we put all these interpretations together? The
death of Saddam Hussein would be followed by a bloody uprising against
his regime. Many people and animals will be killed by weapons of mass
destruction or poisoned by the destruction of chemical and biological
weapons plants. There would be chronic food and water shortages. These
events will occur after
a cruise missile attack.

Perhaps these events will take place soon.

#4. French Woman Reduced To Ashes and a Slippered Foot BY: Susannah
Herbert The Sidney Morning Herald: Saturday, December 12, 1998

SPONTANEOUS COMBUSTION
By SUSANNAH HERBERT in Paris

French police scientists are investigating their first suspected case of
"spontaneous combustion"
- an elderly woman reduced to a small pile of ashes and a slippered foot
while sitting at home in an armchair.

The remains of Gisele, a 67-year-old widow whose surname was not
released, were discovered on November 17 in a farmhouse near Honfleur,
150 kilometres north-east of Paris, where she lived alone.

Police found no signs of a break-in and said the house appeared
untouched by fire although the chair in which the woman apparently had
been sitting had been reduced to ashes, a number of tiles had cracked
and there were soot traces on the living room walls and ceiling.

The only recognisably human remains were an ankle and foot, still in its
slipper.

The director of Lille's police laboratory, Mr Michel Savart, said he had
no idea what could have caused the fire.

"The problem is that a fire hot enough to reduce a body to ashes like
this can also destroy all evidence relating to the cause.

"We've never had a case of spontaneous combustion in France. We don't
have all the facts or the circumstances of the incident."

Studies have shown that a fire needs to reach temperatures of 600c to
consume a human body entirely.

The most celebrated case of spontaneous combustion took place in Florida
in 1951 and has striking similarities to the Honfleur case.

A 67-year-old woman was reduced to ash, but cotton sheets and a pile of
papers in the same room remained unscathed. All that remained of her was
her spinal column and a slippered foot.

About 300 cases described as spontaneous human combustion have been
recorded.

As we countdown to l999/l2/31, 23:59:59 (+1), then millions of computers
will effectively cease to exist. All at once........

In the early days of computing, programmers saved two valuable digits of
memory space by telling computers that a date would always be in
DD/MM/YY format, not DD/MM/YYYY. Unfortunately nobody has ever bothered
with that extra YY part since, but what possible difference can a couple
of digits make ?

ONE SMALL STEP FOR MAN...

Now obviously two digits are sufficient for days and months - unless we
drastically alter our calendars - but when it comes to the year, they
aren't. The year 2000 will be read as 1900*, causing ruined data,
totally wrong financial and stock calculations and millions of complete
system crashes. The effect is already being felt and will snowball as we
countdown to 1999/12/31, 23:59:59 (+1), then millions of computers will
effectively cease to exist. All at once.

The problem is made worse (!) by what are known as embedded systems or
in English, 'microchips inside other things'. Because there are only so
many types of microprocessor, billions of electronic components and
machines that have no need to know the date will still fail at midnight,
Dec 31st, 1999 simply because deep down in their silicon innards they do
know the date, even if it's never used. Think about that for a minute.
Everything from life-support machines to alarm clocks can and will fail
- approximately 4 billion such 'systems' are at risk.
There is simply not enough time (or people) to check everything, let
alone fix it and (most importantly) test it.

...ONE GIANT LEAP INTO A RAVINE

So just how bad will it be? Perhaps this illustration will help readers
determine that for themselves. General Motors was about to shut down one
of its automated plants, so decided to run a Y2K (Year 2000) test before
doing so. The clock was set to Dec 31st, 1999 and at the stroke of
midnight the whole factory stopped. 'The screens just went blank,'
according to one executive. GM has since announced a $500 million repair
plan but admits it's too late to fix
everything (still better than most companies that haven't checked
properly. Those companies will collapse). Another example - the head of
the Australian Stock Exchange has warned hospitals their insurers won't
cover them for Y2K. No insurance means no operations, as staff would
then be personally liable for any mishap. And talking of insurers, try
betting with William Hill** that no
UK scheduled flights will occur on Dec 31st or Jan 1st. When they tell
you the book is now closed, ask why and what the odds were. You won't
like the answer.

Every business relies on computers, even if not directly - certain
customers and suppliers are often so important to a company that if one
goes under, the other follows. The simplest example: It's no use having
a fully Y2000-compliant computer - or business - if the power is out. 24
hours you could probably cope with, but what if your home, business,
customers, suppliers (pick any
one) is without electricity for seven days? Or a month? What if you
can't get a dial-tone to find out what's happening or even use the post?
What if your paycheque never appears, your credit--card expires and all
the cash-machines are empty - or if not you but a close friend or family
member? The more you sit down and calculate what-affects-who the better
your understanding of Y2K will become. These are not worst-case
scenarios. It is beyond the scope of this article to explore the Y2K
bomb's impact on nuclear power stations and military systems. However,
there is a contingency plan that will involve every nuclear power having
secure and reliable emergency communications with every other nuclear
power, in case of Y2K-caused 'misunderstandings' (ahem).

A STORM COMES - OR IS IT JUST ANOTHER SHOWER?

In 1989 the American social security system began throwing up Y2K-
related problems. They started debugging some 30 million lines of code
in 1991 and by 1996 still had 24 million to go...BT has some 300 million
lines to fix, a figure typical of a large company, and when everyone
else is accounted for the world-wide cost, just for code-fixing, is
estimated at £400 billion. (Include the legal fees and that figure
doubles). Consider this analogy from mainframe expert Ed Yourdon, a
programming genius with 24 books to his credit (ask any computing
student how well this man is regarded). He's just written a book called
'Time Bomb 2000' and also re-located himself and family away from New
York - which he 'expects to resemble Beirut'. "Suppose that an expert
meteorologist announces his prediction that a killer hurricane is going
to hit Florida on January 1, 2000. It's going to be 10-100 times
stronger and more lethal than any hurricane in history, says the expert,
and it will reduce the entire state of Florida to swampland before
moving up the East Coast to wreak havoc.

Not everyone agrees with the prediction and quite a few weather
forecasters accuse our expert of being alarmist; indeed, some cynics are
convinced that the meteorologist is trying to scare people so that he
can make a stock-market coup by going short on real-estate companies. A
few people decide to stockpile some food, on the assumption that it
might be a slightly-worse-than-average hurricane; and an even smaller
number of people decide to sell their homes while prices are still high
and move to some part of the country that's safe from hurricanes. These
people are dismissed as alarmists ... but then the word begins to spread
that a growing percentage of meteorologists throughout Florida are
quietly resigning, selling their homes and moving out. So are the
meteorologists in South Carolina and North Carolina and Texas... " This
is real and it's happening right now. I'm an ex-COBOL programmer of
government mainframes (ICL3980s, VME for those that know) and I am also
making contingency plans because I expect the combined effects of Y2K to
range from 'appalling' to 'catastrophic'. Programmers have been
screaming about this for years now but executives, managers and
politicians have refused to acknowledge the sheer damage potential until
it's too late. The first truly immovable computing deadline has in
reality already passed. More than half of any computing project is
testing - testing that all companies should be in the middle of now and
all through 1999. It's now a damage limitation exercise and it affects
every one of us. Get busy. Websites: The Cassandra Project. Ed Yourdon's
Home Page. Sightings Y2K section. *Well, not always. As is typical with
humans there are many ways of achieving a bad result. One is the 'hard-
coded 19' - the date is stored as '19 + the number of years since 1900'
which results in an HG Wells-style leap to the year 19100 (crash, bang,
wallop). Another is the leap year problem (which 2000 is, but 1900
wasn't). A standard method of calculating a leap year is to divide the
year by four - if it's a whole
number, it's a leap year. There is a 'century clause' though - if the
year is also divisible by 100, then it's not a leap year. Guess what?
2000 is our first 'exception to the exception', being divisible by 400
means that the 'century clause' does not apply - (cue the cockney accent
) and not a lot of programs know that. Finally, 2000 starts with a
Saturday - 1900 didn't. Time locks?
Ooops...

#6. Vampire Myths May Be Traced To Disfiguring Disease By Anthony
Breznican, Associated Press Writer Copyright © 1998 Nando.net
Copyright © 1998 The Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (October 31, 1998 11:14 p.m. EST http://www.nandotimes.com)
-- They drank the blood of animals to ease their pain and hid from
daylight. People horrified by their ghastly appearance called them
vampires or werewolves and slaughtered them. Nearly 400 years after
such devilish myths surfaced, Wayne Tikkanen, a professor of chemistry
at California State University, Los Angeles, believes they were linked
to a disfiguring disease.

Tikkanen says there really were monsters in Romania and Hungary during
the 16th and 17th centuries. But the monsters were the judges, the
clergy and the ordinary citizens who executed hundreds of people because
they mistook the disease for evil, he contends.

"I am a trained scientist. I don't believe in vampires and werewolves,"
Tikkanen said.

In lectures, he speculates that the European monster myths were the
result of a disfiguring blood disease known as porphyria. The disease
weakens the flesh against ultraviolet rays and changes heme, a component
of blood that carries oxygen to the brain, into a toxin.

As porphyria symptoms worsen, the skin begins to blacken and rupture in
the sun. Abnormal amounts of hair grow in the scars. Burned lips peel
back making the teeth more prominent, the nose erodes and in some cases
the fingers disintegrate, making the hands resemble paws.

A few variations of porphyria result in insanity and delusions including
agonizing pains.

Now treatable, people with porphyria can lead normal lives with
medication. The disease affects one out of 100,000 people.

Some afflicted with the disease centuries ago may have drunk animal
blood to relieve their pain as a folk remedy. However, Tikkanen stressed
that porphyria sufferers do not thirst for blood like Bela Lugosi's
Dracula.

Tikkanen also said he found an explanation of the legend that vampires
and werewolves only come out during a full moon. Those with particularly
sensitive skin "only go out after sunset," he said.

"You may do this all the time, but people will only see you when the
night is at its brightest -- or in other words, a full moon," Tikkanen
said.

Tikkanen studied numerous accounts written by occult scholar Montague
Summers and 16th century European judge H. Bouget, who named nearly 600
people as monsters and had them burned at the stake.

He said he has read some cases in which ordinary citizens would find
these disease victims hiding from the sun in coffins or buried under a
few inches of dirt in the woods.

"They'd dig them out of the ground, and these people would struggle
frenetically because they'd soon be ripped apart and burned," Tikkanen
said. As the story was passed along, the so-called vampire became the
instigator.

Other aspects of porphyria also contributed to the myth, he said.
Sufferers abhor garlic, which stimulates the creation of the toxins in
their blood and could make them violently ill, Tikkanen said.

Back then, they also may have feared the cross because it was the sign
of the religious and the inquisitors who sought either to hear their
confessions or have them burned, he said.

"Just think: you're horribly disfigured but you're perfectly lucid,"
Tikkanen said. "You don't know what's happening to you, and the doctor
doesn't want to treat you even if he knew how. Your priest wants you to
confess your sins or the judge will burn you at the stake. But you don't
know what you've done wrong."

Doctor Scott Grover, chairman of the CSU chemistry and biochemistry
department, said people shouldn't think of Tikkanen as a mad scientist
chasing monsters. Other scientists have also espoused such theories.

"This is his way of reaching audience, of getting them interested in
science, which is the hallmark of a good teacher," Grover said. "Please
don't think there is vampire and werewolf research going on at Cal State
."

#7. The Alien Reality According To Edgar Cayce By; Karal Ayn Barnett ©
1998
      http://www.jinglesweb.com/karal [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Psychic healer Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) gave us an astonishing amount of
esoteric information during his lifetime. Much of what we understand
about the other realms of existence were offered during the trance-state
where some part of Edgar's consciousness would ascend to the realm of
the Akashic Records to discover an individual's past life. Like the
biblical Book of Life, all lives -- past, present and future -- are
purported to be written there. It was from this information that we
came to know what Edgar Cayce had to say about the subject of ETs.

The term, "flying saucers," was not much in use before 1947 when Kenneth
Arnold coined the term, and the subject of Extraterrestrials was not
often discussed during Cayce's lifetime. But apparently one inquiring
mind in Cayce's circle did contemplate the possibility and took the
liberty of asking Cayce about ETs during a trance sessions.

In 1925, Edgar was asked, "Are any of the planets other than Earth
inhabited by human beings or animal life of any kind?" Cayce answered,
"No. Only upon the earth planet, at present, do we find man as flesh
and blood…."

At first glance, this answer might be interpreted as a negative response
. But a closer look clearly shows that Edgar was specific about his
comments. He used the words AT PRESENT to indicate that at the time the
question was posed, there were no such beings on the other worlds. He
did not give a flat statement of denial that would have indicated NEVER
had there been non- human life forms on the other planets.

Though the answers that Edgar Cayce related while in his trance state
were direct and to the point, based on the questions that were asked of
him, he did at times flesh out his meaning. For instance, during an
individual's past life reading, Edgar often described scenes and events
of a person's past life in order to give a context to the information he
would impart. More than 14,000 life readings, now archived at the
Association of Research and Enlightenment of Virginia Beach, Virginia,
(http://www.are-cayce.com) contain several surprising statements
regarding the nature of alien reality.

In 1938, for example, Cayce told one man that he had lived in Atlantis,
once thought to be a mythical land. There, Edgar Cayce said, the man
had been "the keeper of the portals as well as the messages that were
received from the visitation of those from the outer spheres" (Reading
1681-1). The language that Edgar Cayce used when speaking from the
higher realms was sometimes difficult to understand because of its
formality. But in this case, it seems clear that some form of
interstellar communication was taking place, according to Edgar Cayce,
perhaps through some kind of dimensional window.

The interaction between human and alien was more than just the
communication between the worlds in Atlantean times. Edgar Cayce also
suggested that one women traveled back to the aliens' world. During the
woman's past life reading, Edgar stated that the woman in question had
been a Mayan Priestess living in the Yucatan with "those that were
visited from other worlds or planets." He went on to explain that she
had "journeyed with those from her own abode," apparently traveling back
to the alien world with the ETs.

Here, Cayce states forthrightly that aliens were visiting earth during
the time of the Mayan culture. The suggestion that the Mayans had some
connection with Extraterrestrials has been made by others, including
actress Shirley MacLaine, in OUT ON A LIMB, an ABC made-for-TV movie
based on the book that told the story of her personal spiritual quest.

Though Edgar Cayce's words are few and far between on the subject of
alien reality, he said enough to give credence to the idea that one or
more ancient alien cultures were in contact with human beings in the
distant past. Many people including UFOlogical researchers like Erich
von Danniken, Zechariah Sitchin, and Richard C. Hoagland would probably
agree. ***
