An email from a friend in FL (her brother is a bank exec in Chicago). -------------------------------------- Dear Jim: Well, I just talked to my brother and got the low down on Banking. This is what he said: All employees will report to work on December 31, 1999 and expect to stay at least 48 hours. But, he said that is a laugh because they will be expected to stay longer. They are putting together a Day Care Center for people with children who will bring their children to work with them. They are also blocking off floors of a Hotel near the Bank, so employees will at least be able to go and get some rest. Even though the possibility of No Electricity will exist. No elevators. They blocked rooms on lower floors. They are already getting in dried foods, water, etc. He said, "I wouldn't want to be on an airplane." Although, he said that their Bank will be compliant, he hopes. It is other banks, businesses, international operations, wire transfers etc. Well, he was not at all positive about anything. And said, "YES, this is a real thing!" Betty
