-Caveat Lector-
Bravo for the Dutch!!
Clearly, the memory of the Nazi invasion and the butchery of
hundreds of innocent Dutch citizens (Jew and non-Jew alike) has not been
forgotten in the Netherlands. Many of the people who lived through that
time of horror are still alive.
They still live with those memories
of loved ones who died during the war...of families torn apart by the Nazi
invasion... Many of the Europeans who lived through that time carry with
either visible or invisible scars...
"The Diary of Anne Frank" is not just a "Jewish" story...it's a story that
contains a message for all of us.. It's a moving story of love and
courage about ordinary people who are caught up in circumstances beyond
their control. Anne could be anyone's daughter or sister... She represents
the human will to survive...to say no to oppression. The Nazis destroyed her
body but they were never able to crush her spirit. Anne lives in us and
belongs to us.. in a way these fascist types will never understand.
Thanks again, Robert, for the informative posts.
