In the village of Leslie, near the town of Glenrothes in Fife, Scotland
there have been a spate of reported water-poisonings from contaminated
drinking
water.
A male researcher asking detailed questions about the specifications of water
purity at various agencies has been found dead in his car on a country road
under mysterious circumstances which involves a white van at the scene
which disappeared before the arrival of the police. [last week]
It can be alleged that the quality of reservoir water/table has been
degraded due to
the new European Community edict that untreated human sewage should be sprayed
on the surrounding fields. If so then much Capital inflow to the Fife area
which
depends on continuing good relations with European Regional Grant money,
may be
jeapordised - saying no to sewage could rock the boat.
If we cannot show that the amount of aluminium sulphate and chlorine has
recently
increased at the water treatment plant - we may infer that there could be a
potential health hazard. Results with Machonchie, Blood and Chocolate agar may
demonstrate an unacceptable level of Human faecal pathogens - or,
There may also have been some industrial sewage contaminant that has leaked
from
one of the big local firms.
A local PhD in Microbiology has lectured that Human sewage even treated
could be
a Health Hazard because of the great number of treatment resistant
bacteria, fungus
and viruses. [scientific opinion which contradicts local policy]
At this moment in time, locals are a bit concerned that asking questions
could be risky - and obviously, those who know are avoiding the tap water.
