The Ice Age was about 100,000 years ago, the very
earliest human-like skeleton ever found was dated at
50,000 years ago, Lucy, and she was very small in
height and ape-like.  The first mutterings of western
civilization were really only 3,000 years ago.
Mankind has not existed in his current form for very
long, in fact, for only a very short period of
relative to the planets.  Furthermore, earth is only
1-2 million years old...FAR fewer years than billion
(which is 100 million years).
