  Hello Pamela and CAWDTeachersTalking:

POC is a registered BC political party which has
opencourseware/opensourceware as part of its platform (but we are also
capable of some "serious silliness" as our card indicates).

I notice from your web site that there are students in Nigeria eager to
learn Introductory Computing Science. At
http://www.geocities.com/AI_TEACHING_MACHINE we are putting lectures adapted
from BCIT's COMP 1002 on a web site. COMP 1002 will get you transfer credit
at any major university here.

To pass this course, the student will also have to engage in dialogue on a
POC administered list like the MIT- list. We have 400-500 subscribers on
POC-administered lists, many of whom are computer experts.
Also POC has a P.Eng. computing science consultant to call on if any
really tough questions are asked by students.

PS: Loges-de-Corbeaux is sort of Canada's Shangri-La. The story was
written up in the Ottawa Citizen in 1979. Mr. Turner, a surveyor from
Cranbrook BC found a piece of land high in the Rockies bordering Alberta and
BC which was not on any map. So he laid claim to it and proclaimed himself
king of a now-contested throne. The name he gave to his kingdom is
Loges-de-Corbeaux which means crow's nest. When the reporter asked his wife
for an opinion, she said essentially, 'That is one crow who is out of his
tree'.
