-Caveat Lector-

I can't swear to it, but I believe that Edison was not, in fact, the
inventor of the electric chair. I believe that I remember reading that
someone else was the inventor. I could be persuaded that I am in error about
this if someone would confirm that Edison was listed on a patent as the
inventor, but certainly not by a qoute from TV.
I will say that Edison probably was not unhappy to see its use. He was
trying to stop the use of AC in favor of his own system. However, I believe
that he confined his electrocuting activity to stray dogs and cats. And, I
am pretty certain that all on this list would prefer to be shocked by DC
rather than AC of similar watts.
"E Mael" has denigrated Edison on several occasions now. I wonder why he
is so bothered by a man who has been dead for all these years. I am sure
that Edison was a far from perfect man. However, his accomplishments were
very great and I believe that we all owe him a great debt. I wish that I
could accomplish a tenth of what he was able to accomplish.
