**Bomb explodes on Florida black college campus**
A bomb exploded in a restroom at Florida A&M University Wednesday, the
second explosion at the historically black college in less than a month,
but no one was injured. University authorities said law enforcement
officials were investigating the bombing as a possible hate crime.

**Fatal assault on gay man goes to jury**
Prosecutors insist that Edgard Mora is guilty of murder and a hate crime
for the 1998 death of a gay man outside a South of Market leather bar.
Mora's attorney claims the charges are "politically
motivated." The jury heard both sides of the story one more time in
closing arguments on Tuesday, then retired to consider a verdict.

**Argentina candidates denounce desecration at Jewish cemetery**
Jewish leaders in Argentina are warning that recent vandalism at a Jewish
cemetery near Buenos Aires should not be used as a tool in the country's
presidential campaign. The comments came after vandals desecrated 63 tombs
at the Cemetery of La Tablada, which has been the target of similar
attacks in the past, the most recent in December 1997. Carlos Menem,
Argentina's president, called the attack ``an act to be condemned in every
sense.''

**Revival of extreme right-wing group conjures fears of neo-fascism in
Italy**
The announcement by an extreme right-wing leader here that he will revive
his illegal hate group next month has renewed concerns about public
displays of neo-Nazi sentiments. Maurizio Boccacci, Rome's most prominent
ultraright-wing leader, told La Repubblica newspaper that he plans to
relaunch his Movimento Politico on Oct. 28, despite a government ban on
its operation.

**California Students face hate crime charges**
Four middle schools students made plans to bring weapons to school and
attack a group of Armenian students, police said. The Wilson Middle
School students face pre-expulsion hearings and are also scheduled to
appear in Pasadena Juvenile Court on Nov. 15 on a state charge of
conspiracy to commit civil rights violations, Glendale Police spokesman
Chahe Keuroghelian said Tuesday.
