Yah, especially since the Solar Max will occur in mid-2000 CE, according
to a recent press release from NASA. So the Illuminati set the Greg
calendar off by 6 months or so. Oops...

Yah, Dennis the Insignificant and his successors really screwed up by
adopting a base-1 system, rather than base-zero. Of course, {JHWH}
hadn't told them about zero, so they couldn't have done any better.

This is a theological debate, not numerical. Consensus is impossible.
Anyway, numerous other calendar systems have already passed their 2nd,
4th, 6th millennia without discernible damage [or benefit] to humanity.
Those expecting this time-passage to be any different are [character-
ization deleted]. But it gives them something to obsess over...
Depending on who does the calculating, we're actually approaching year
7500 AM [Anno Mundi, since the creation of the world, a calendric system
used by Byzantium and its heirs for quite awhile.] 2000? Piffle!! A
very small number...
