The US is a bastion of Fascism which is the epitome of state monopoly
capitalism, in the sense that the state does not control the market but DOES
provide the means for corporations and the elites to do so. Communism is the
model where the state ACTUALLY owns and operates the system. There is little
difference in the running, but much in the implementation. State CONTROL and
running usually involves massive corruption and shortages like in the USSR.
Elite and corporate control usually are much more efficient since they have
the veneer of oversight and governmental control. In the end there is still
a small group of people that end up with the bulk of the wealth and power in
both situations.
