Complete and total outrage is what one should expect from people subjected to
this asset forfeiture bullshit. The BLATANT conflict of interest should be
more than enough to nullify the laws. How absurd this whole thing has become
and still people just sit idly by as if everything is A-Okay. >>
You've no idea how few people seemed aware of the above incident. I've been
telling folks about it for years now, and it's always elicited shocked
surprise. I didn't know about it when it happened, but I was living abroad.
It must have received some kind of publicity, but no one I've found seemed to
have ever read it. Along with that, think about this settlement. Five
million could not possibly cover the amount of money and property
confiscated. All that California real estate and all the personal forture
must have amounted to a blazing amount. I'd say the powers that be and
perpetrate such outrages have made out like the bandits they are. Prudy
