You're right. George W. is never bothered by facts or policy. However, I'd
like to know what makes you think Powell and Schwarzkopf are right about gays
in the military? The Foreign Legion which has always been famous as a top
fighting force was full of gays. Alexander the Great was gay, and he
certainly did all right until he was poisoned. If commanders cannot conduct
war with whomever they have in the ranks, it doesn't follow that it is the
ranks that are at fault. It speaks to poor command ability. No matter what
the Times tells you, we have a lot more poor command ability in our military
than we could ever have gays. Prudy
