Teacher Charged With Having Sex With 15-Year-Old

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (AP) - A high school teacher has been charged with
having sex with a 15-year-old boy inside a parked car.
Dennis R. Walters, 53, of Perkasie, was arrested Jan. 6 after an
undercover police officer patrolling the Allentown area saw the
teacher performing a sex act on the boy, according to court records.
The car, which belonged to Walters, was parked on a poorly lit street
about six blocks from where he picked up the teen-ager. The boy
claimed he had been promised $20, the officer said.
Walters was charged with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse,
indecent assault, corruption of minors and prostitution. He was
released on $15,000 bail.
"I can't think what to say," Walters said when reached at his home
Tuesday. He declined further comment.
The Quakertown Senior High School teacher, who has been employed with
the District for 25 years, is not currently teaching, district
Superintendent Dr. James R. Scanlon said.
Eight years ago, school officials suspended Walters after he was
arrested for trespassing at an adult book store from where he had been
banned because of belligerent behavior.
