The solution to this is to allow the confiscation of all weapons possessed by
the ordinary citizenry. The obvious upside to this is the increase in and to
commerce in various 'security' industries, namely:
-- Burglar alarms
-- Surveillance systems
-- Window barring concerns
-- Fence constructors (cyclone, barbed / razor wire)
-- Walling constructors (cinder block, concrete)
-- Security forces (police, private guards, dogs)
-- Identification systems devices (bar coding, numerical identification,
fingerprinting).
Gee, sounds just like ... just like ... prison. Note that each of the above is
NOW available. Just contact Brinks (or equivalent) or one of the various
'secure' communities that wall off their residential areas and post guards (and
who knows what else) to insulate the dwellers from the bad, bad, bad outside
world. This is an atavistic, anachronistic Europeanism, harking back to them
olden days of moats and castles, protection for the privileged.
The notion of a national identification system is also a Europeanism, albeit
modern, in that many citizens of them 'enlightened' nations must coordinate
their moving movements with the local governments ... don't wanna lose track of
the tax base. I seem to recall we had a little difference of opinion with the
Old World about over-taxing matters, taxes themselves and the other burdens of
governmental control. Too bad the Britlanders and those who have studied post-
WW2 Eastern Europe still don't get the point of, respectively, the Robin Hood
and Stasi-style stories, in which the government is intended to be a service to
the people, not the other way around.
I'd like to point out to Bill Jeff and his clique that just because he chose to
live a totalitarian existence, it doesn't mean we all do. Many of us are
comfortable being responsible for our own lives and actions. Of course, some
of do deserve to live locked up.
