I don't have any exact figures, but I do know that after the early A-
Bomb tests the winds brought a tremendous amount of fallout to
upstate New York and cancer rates in the region over the following
two decades soared.
Recently, New York State published an online map which showed
the prevalence of cancer county by county. Cancer rates in
northern NY were way down. Unfortunately, there is no way to tell
what the results of an incident such as the Los Alamos fires are
until decades pass and people fall ill and die and then, of course,
the whole issue becomes history and hindsight.
