Jerusalem Mayor Ehud Olmert said today that Prime Minister Ehud Barak should order the Moslem Wakf to stop all excavations on the Temple Mount immediately, Israel Radio reports. He accused Barak of adopting recommendations that would allow the Wakf to continue its activities of the Temple Mount undisturbed, calling the move a serious mistake, the report says. Olmert also said it would be easy to stop the Wakf's excavations, and that Barak was deluding the public into believing that ceasing the Wakf's activities would lead to disaster. Meanwhile, various professionals met with Barak this morning on the issue of the Temple Mount and presented their recommendations to him, Jerusalem Post Internet staff reports.
