Interestingly, The History Channel at the same time (at least here in the Eastern Time
Zone) was showing the
first installment of a multipart documentary (that continues tonight) about how
various drugs became
criminalized...
They spent quite a bit of time in this first installment on marijuana, and all in all
the government and its
case for criminalizing pot did not come off well...
Towards the end there was even an argument made that under the Constitution, citizens
should be free to ingest
anything they want, especially if its deemed relatively 'safe'...
It'll be interesting to see the other installments, to see what legal arguments pro or
con are presented
regarding other drugs...
