Anyway it seems the mess is over, what with Gore conceding and Bush named as President elect. It makes me wonder at how this whole thing went down and exactly what the stakes were. I believe that the new election system and computer voting will be promoted whole hog. Gore must have deliberately shot himself in the foot what with the contesting of certain areas and not the whole state. Part of the plan maybe. Ironically, given the circumstances I believe the Supreme court ruled correctly on the issue presented to it when it overturned the Fla. decision. It is truly a shame that we even had to choose between these two men(?) and that we will have to deal with the new Imperial nation of Bush, another Reagan with others running the show for him and old boys slapping backs and loving it, and us returning to the stone age. Gore would have offered us nothing better with his arrogant eastern establishment mentality of I deserve this and I am better than you and you NEED me.
